Baptism!

Image
Hey everyone!!! So, I probably won’t send very long emails until the last week... but these last two weeks have been awesome!   Last Sunday we had 11 people come to church, which is the biggest number I have ever had or seen!! SUCH A BIG MIRACLE for me.  On Saturday we were able to baptize Abigail, which was also another miracle story. After, she texted us and told us how grateful she was and that she will never forget us and hopes we never forget her. I love being a missionary.  This coming week we already have super big days planned with a lot of new potential people and I am so excited and am trying to finish strong! Last Tuesday we went to the temple. That was one of the best, most spiritual experiences on my mission.    I don't have much time left but just trying to finish strong!!   I have been putting "be happy" at the end of my emails for a little while now because I truly believe that being happy is a choice. Obviously we will have sad days and down days but in

Even One Step

Hey everyone!! This week was super good. We were able to put a baptismal date with Abigail!! We had a family home evening with her and the bishop’s family - which was perfect because one of the daughters just got back from her mission about a month ago! She is the same age as Abigail. Then the next day she called us and told us that she had a dream and that she knew she needed to be baptized! So, she will be getting baptized on the 11th!  We are just finishing summer. And starting winter. Which really means the rainy season. The cold season is about November - February. I should get some rain but I won't be here for very much of it. And we will see how much it rains... last year it didn't rain much.    This week on Friday we will have transfers! I will be staying with my companion and the secretaries will stay the same too! Which is awesome because President believes it's the best office team he has had! I will be finishing at the end of the transfers -  June 13th.   I was

Time is Running Out

Heyyyy everyone I hope you are all doing good!!  I didn't send an email last week sorry about that. But these last two weeks have been super good!! We have seen the Lord's hand and his timing in everything.  We were walking up a street trying to talk to everyone and then this mom and son stopped us and offered us some empanadas. My companion bought one and then we talked to them about the church! We had a visit with them a little bit after and they told us they NEVER walk down that one street but for whatever reason decided to walk down it. So that's cool. We are really hoping we can help them come to church.  We got a referral from the bishop’s wife. Her name is Abigail. Somehow Abigail was talking to the missionaries 2 years ago but never had time to go to church. And then somehow found the bishop’s wife's number. She has come the last 2 Sundays and is super ready. She told us she had already received her answer about the Book of Mormón and the church. So cool.  Here

General Conference!

Image
Heyyyyy everyone!!   How was your week? I hope you all enjoyed general conference!!!  This week was super awesome. We didn't have very much time to work in our area which was unfortunate but it was still super awesome.  Tuesday we had leadership council, Wednesday we spent the day with an elder for his final day before going home, Thursday we were super sick and couldn't leave the house, Friday we did divisions, and on the weekend we had general conference!  On Friday for divisions, I was able to go to Patzun, the area I was in one year ago. It is also my favorite area! We were able to see a few miracles that day in finding new people! I was also able to see a few families there which was super special.  My favorite thing from general conference was when President Nelson told us that the best way to hold on to the iron rod is to go to the temple!! I loved that so much. I love you all! Be Happy Elder Pilling

This week was pretty good!!   My companion and I have started to get things going. We have started to talk to more people and have had some good lessons and we are getting to know the members.  We visited Carlos, Yesenia, Brandon, Julio, Ana, and, Angie this week. On Sunday we went with 4 families from the ward and it went super good!! Julio and Ana will be married on the 2th then baptized after and we are hoping that their daughter does as well. That same day Brandon will also be baptized. We are working on getting Carlos divorced and then Yesenia and Carlos will get married and baptized - hopefully that happens soon!!!! We don't know how long the divorce will take.  This week we will have leadership council and be able to do a few trainings with the leaders. That will be awesome.  Also, the senior missionaries always buy these candies for us. I don't know if they are old people candy or not but I really like them.   2. It was not ever thus, nor pray’d that thou Shouldst lea

Transfers!

Heyyyyyy everybody!! This week was pretty wild. On Tuesday we finalized transfers with the president!  On Wednesday we were with the missionaries that were going home which was pretty cool. I was able to hear their testimonies. That was super cool. Then on Thursday the new missionaries came here at around 1. We had lunch with them and then they had interviews with the president and a small training. They come soooo tired but then we went out to our area and worked with them. I was with a guatemalteco and a Utahn. We had a really good 1 hour of work! Then on Friday we had transfers which were pretty crazy but went somewhat smoothly.  I got a new companion. His name is Elder Johnston, he's from Utah and we are already homies so it'll be fun. Also, a new secretary came. His name is Elder Currit., He is also one of my best friends so I'm so excited! Carlos, Yesenia, Brandon, and Anderson Perez and Julio, Ana, and Angie Vega: We started teaching these families last transfer an

Service!

Holaaaaa This week was pretty awesome!!  It started with divisions on Tuesday... so we went to a place called Patzicia. Then they told us there was a service - which is great. We love service. So after our district council we went with the zone to the service.... then we saw 400 cinder blocks that had to be moved up a 200m hill... so we got to work. We were 13 missionaries and to make it faster we did a chain. About 2.5 hours and we got half done. Everyone was sweating and thirsty but we left and got to work in our areas.  I went with Elder Sharp and Elder Colque. We had a good day with a few visits. Then Wednesday morning we went back to the service to  finish at 8am ... we were so tired and sore and really didn't wanna do it haha. But we got to work and took a lot more breaks that time. We finally finished like another 2.5 hours haha.      We has some pretty good visits during the week, including the Perez family. Then on Saturday we got to help president with transfers!! That
