Service!

 Holaaaaa


This week was pretty awesome!! 

It started with divisions on Tuesday... so we went to a place called Patzicia. Then they told us there was a service - which is great. We love service. So after our district council we went with the zone to the service.... then we saw 400 cinder blocks that had to be moved up a 200m hill... so we got to work. We were 13 missionaries and to make it faster we did a chain. About 2.5 hours and we got half done. Everyone was sweating and thirsty but we left and got to work in our areas. 









I went with Elder Sharp and Elder Colque. We had a good day with a few visits. Then Wednesday morning we went back to the service to finish at 8am... we were so tired and sore and really didn't wanna do it haha. But we got to work and took a lot more breaks that time. We finally finished like another 2.5 hours haha. 

   

We has some pretty good visits during the week, including the Perez family. Then on Saturday we got to help president with transfers!! That was super cool to see revelation work. Then he took us out for lunch :) 

 

I read this super awesome scripture this week. 

Alma 33:11 And thou didst hear me because of mine afflictions and my sincerity; and it is because of thy Son that thou hast been thus merciful unto me, therefore I will cry unto thee in all mine afflictions, for in thee is my joy; for thou hast turned thy judgments away from me, because of thy Son.

So many things to pull from this scripture... but here's a few things. 1. God hears us when we are in afflictions (and not in afflictions) and if we are sincere. 2. God is merciful unto us because of Jesus Christ and His atonement. 3. In God and his gospel is joy. Which means outside of the Gosepl there is not the same joy. And the joy we feel in the gospel lasts FOREVER. 3. Jesus answers the ends of the law and therefore the judgements of God are turned away!

Big Changes

  Hey everyone!!   So this week we had transfers and I got moved to a super cool area called San Lucas Toliman. It's on the famous Lake Atitlan and surrounded by volcanoes. It is soooo pretty here!! I don't have a ton of pictures but I will take more this week don't worry. My companion is Elder Perez from Mexico and I am starting his training!!! I'm so excited and there's tons of work to do here.  The missionaries before us really didn't leave us anything to work with so we are starting from 0... but with a little bit of hard work and some time we will see miracles!!  This week in my studies I came across a verse from Doctrine and Covenants section 50:44 "44 Wherefore, I am in your midst, and I am the good shepherd, and the stone of Israel. He that buildeth upon this rock shall never fall." I love that it has two different names of Christ and that it gives us a promise. If we build upon his rock, we will never fall!!  Such a big blessing.  Happy new ye...

Baptism!

  Hey everyone!!! So, I probably won’t send very long emails until the last week... but these last two weeks have been awesome!   Last Sunday we had 11 people come to church, which is the biggest number I have ever had or seen!! SUCH A BIG MIRACLE for me.  On Saturday we were able to baptize Abigail, which was also another miracle story. After, she texted us and told us how grateful she was and that she will never forget us and hopes we never forget her. I love being a missionary.  This coming week we already have super big days planned with a lot of new potential people and I am so excited and am trying to finish strong! Last Tuesday we went to the temple. That was one of the best, most spiritual experiences on my mission.    I don't have much time left but just trying to finish strong!!   I have been putting "be happy" at the end of my emails for a little while now because I truly believe that being happy is a choice. Time is Running Out

Heyyyy everyone I hope you are all doing good!!  I didn't send an email last week sorry about that. But these last two weeks have been super good!! We have seen the Lord's hand and his timing in everything.  We were walking up a street trying to talk to everyone and then this mom and son stopped us and offered us some empanadas. My companion bought one and then we talked to them about the church! We had a visit with them a little bit after and they told us they NEVER walk down that one street but for whatever reason decided to walk down it. So that's cool. We are really hoping we can help them come to church.  We got a referral from the bishop’s wife. Her name is Abigail. Somehow Abigail was talking to the missionaries 2 years ago but never had time to go to church. And then somehow found the bishop’s wife's number. She has come the last 2 Sundays and is super ready. She told us she had already received her answer about the Book of Mormón and the church. So cool.  He...
