Week 2 Home MTC

This week went by so fast I don't know how it's possible. Time is a weird thing. This week was basically the same as last week. However, I got a new teacher for my afternoon class and he is really awesome! Pretty chill guy but very fun and funny and an excellent teacher. I am excited to have him in person. Lots of classes on zoom. I am glad that Zoom is over but kind of sad I am leaving. I Learned some more Spanish and practiced talking to fake investigators and my companion and I did not do super good because our Spanish is not the best haha. Half my district is so so with Spanish (like me) so it's good that I am not alone. My favourite scripture from this week was Mark 5:36 "...be not afraid, only believe." I am working on trying my hardest and taking it one day at a time, relying on the Lord for strength, I have a long time to grow so there is no need to rush.

 

On Sunday in Church we sang Hymn 219 - Because I have been given much - and felt the spirit so much! The third verse says,
Because I have been blessed by
thy great love dear Lord;
I’ll share thy love again
According to thy word;
I shall give love to those in need,
I’ll show that love by word and deed;
Thus shall my thanks be thanks in deed.

 

I love the beginning because it is another reason why I want to and why we should all love other people! We truly have been blessed with the love of God and I am so grateful for it. I encourage all of you guys to love, compliment and be nice to everyone you talk to this week! 









I’m leaving to go to the Mexico MTC for a month tomorrow morning. I’m excited the next chapter of my mission!

Big Changes

  Hey everyone!!   So this week we had transfers and I got moved to a super cool area called San Lucas Toliman. It's on the famous Lake Atitlan and surrounded by volcanoes. It is soooo pretty here!! I don't have a ton of pictures but I will take more this week don't worry. My companion is Elder Perez from Mexico and I am starting his training!!! I'm so excited and there's tons of work to do here.  The missionaries before us really didn't leave us anything to work with so we are starting from 0... but with a little bit of hard work and some time we will see miracles!!  This week in my studies I came across a verse from Doctrine and Covenants section 50:44 "44 Wherefore, I am in your midst, and I am the good shepherd, and the stone of Israel. He that buildeth upon this rock shall never fall." I love that it has two different names of Christ and that it gives us a promise. Baptism!

  Hey everyone!!! So, I probably won’t send very long emails until the last week... but these last two weeks have been awesome!   Last Sunday we had 11 people come to church, which is the biggest number I have ever had or seen!! SUCH A BIG MIRACLE for me.  On Saturday we were able to baptize Abigail, which was also another miracle story. After, she texted us and told us how grateful she was and that she will never forget us and hopes we never forget her. I love being a missionary.  This coming week we already have super big days planned with a lot of new potential people and I am so excited and am trying to finish strong! Last Tuesday we went to the temple. That was one of the best, most spiritual experiences on my mission.    I don't have much time left but just trying to finish strong!!   I have been putting "be happy" at the end of my emails for a little while now because I truly believe that being happy is a choice. Time is Running Out

Heyyyy everyone I hope you are all doing good!!  I didn't send an email last week sorry about that. But these last two weeks have been super good!! We have seen the Lord's hand and his timing in everything.  We were walking up a street trying to talk to everyone and then this mom and son stopped us and offered us some empanadas. My companion bought one and then we talked to them about the church! We had a visit with them a little bit after and they told us they NEVER walk down that one street but for whatever reason decided to walk down it. So that's cool. We are really hoping we can help them come to church.  We got a referral from the bishop’s wife. Her name is Abigail. Somehow Abigail was talking to the missionaries 2 years ago but never had time to go to church. And then somehow found the bishop’s wife's number. She has come the last 2 Sundays and is super ready. She told us she had already received her answer about the Book of Mormón and the church. So cool.  He...
