I Basically Live On a Bus Now

 Hello everyone! 


This week was a pretty good week, I traveled a ton and was on a bus or some form of transport probably more than I was in my house not sleeping. 

So Thursday we did something called an area attack. Everyone in the district goes to one area and then contacts for 2 hours. We went to San Martín so we had to take two different buses. We then started exchanges and I was with Elder Jones, my first Latino exchange! We came back to Comalapa so another two buses. It was interesting given my Spanish isn't great, but I loved it. It was fun. Friday we ended exchanges and then went to help with the other district’s area attack in our zone because we didn't have time to go back to Comalapa. So we took a bus out, then back to Chimal then to an area called Itzapa for a baptismal interview. Then we got the last bus from Chimal to Comalapa. A lot of bus rides haha. 



Sunday we used basically every mode of transportation. A tuk tuk, van, walking, back of a pick up, a big bus, and a little bus. It was a fun day haha. Riding in the back of a pick up is a fun experience, I quite enjoyed it. I also attended my first baptism on Sunday as well! It was a very cool experience. A 9 year old boy who was so excited. I can't wait to help change lives! 




Tuesday I got a stomach infection so we stayed home and I slept all day. I had a fever and stomach problems.  It was pretty tough but I am feeling good today! 

Unfortunately Danny had no time this week to meet with us. It has been a long time since we have had a real lesson with him and it's tough not meeting with him. 

I ate at my favorite Mexican restaurant a few more times and I had cereal for the first time here!! It was super good. 

This week I have felt I am getting closer and closer to Jesus Christ. I want to bear testimony that he is the ONLY UNFAILING way to joy and happiness. If everything else in your life that usually makes you happy fails, turn to Jesus Christ and seek his help. It won't be easy and it might not happen instantly but with persistence and faith, he will light your life and bring you more joy and happiness than anything else can.

Big Changes

  Hey everyone!!   So this week we had transfers and I got moved to a super cool area called San Lucas Toliman. It's on the famous Lake Atitlan and surrounded by volcanoes. It is soooo pretty here!! I don't have a ton of pictures but I will take more this week don't worry. My companion is Elder Perez from Mexico and I am starting his training!!! I'm so excited and there's tons of work to do here.  The missionaries before us really didn't leave us anything to work with so we are starting from 0... but with a little bit of hard work and some time we will see miracles!!  This week in my studies I came across a verse from Doctrine and Covenants section 50:44 "44 Wherefore, I am in your midst, and I am the good shepherd, and the stone of Israel. He that buildeth upon this rock shall never fall." I love that it has two different names of Christ and that it gives us a promise. If we build upon his rock, we will never fall!!  Such a big blessing.  Happy new ye...

Baptism!

  Hey everyone!!! So, I probably won’t send very long emails until the last week... but these last two weeks have been awesome!   Last Sunday we had 11 people come to church, which is the biggest number I have ever had or seen!! SUCH A BIG MIRACLE for me.  On Saturday we were able to baptize Abigail, which was also another miracle story. After, she texted us and told us how grateful she was and that she will never forget us and hopes we never forget her. I love being a missionary.  This coming week we already have super big days planned with a lot of new potential people and I am so excited and am trying to finish strong! Last Tuesday we went to the temple. That was one of the best, most spiritual experiences on my mission.    I don't have much time left but just trying to finish strong!!   I have been putting "be happy" at the end of my emails for a little while now because I truly believe that being happy is a choice. Time is Running Out

Heyyyy everyone I hope you are all doing good!!  I didn't send an email last week sorry about that. But these last two weeks have been super good!! We have seen the Lord's hand and his timing in everything.  We were walking up a street trying to talk to everyone and then this mom and son stopped us and offered us some empanadas. My companion bought one and then we talked to them about the church! We had a visit with them a little bit after and they told us they NEVER walk down that one street but for whatever reason decided to walk down it. So that's cool. We are really hoping we can help them come to church.  We got a referral from the bishop’s wife. Her name is Abigail. Somehow Abigail was talking to the missionaries 2 years ago but never had time to go to church. And then somehow found the bishop’s wife's number. She has come the last 2 Sundays and is super ready. She told us she had already received her answer about the Book of Mormón and the church. So cool.  He...
