Miracles are real!
Hello everybody! How are you guys!?
This week was quite the roller coaster I will not lie butttttt it was overall an awesome week.
So first week with my new companion and the first 4 days or so were actually super tough. I was stressed about leading the area and working and got homesick a lot. But then I had times where I was really happy and excited for the transfer. It was really up and down.
The first few days we met with members and our investigators so that my companion can get to know them. It was pretty chill honestly. About the title: There are always miracles in the work but Sunday was a little bit special. 2 sisters came to church with their kids and said that they want to meet with us! We met with one of them (Veronica) and she has lots of connections with the church. Her parents are members, her sister is a member, she went to church and the activities when she was younger but her dad didn't give permission for her to be baptized. So she ended up falling away from the chruch. And so when we met with her she said that she and her 9 year old daughter - Fernanda- wants to be baptized! And also, she already knows the church, Joseph Smith, the Book of Mormon, everything is true!!! This is definitely the biggest miracle I have seen on my mission so far. When we are doing the things we are supposed to do (ex. Being obedient to the commandments, reading the scriptures, listening to prophets and apostles speak at general conference, partaking of the sacrament weekly) the lord will bless us!!!! In Jacob 5 we learn that the Lord Is working with us in the Vinyard. This is so true and he helps prepare people for us to teach. We are meeting with the sister on Thursday and we are super excited.
It has been raining everyday in the afternoon and evening and when it rains it RAINS. It's pretty cool though honestly. Also my spanish the last 2 weeks has really taken a jump! I can understand a lot and talk more fluent. It honestly feels so cool!!
My spiritual thought this week comes from Ether 12:27
"27 And if men come unto me I will show unto them their weakness. I give unto men weakness that they may be humble; and my grace is sufficient for all men that humble themselves before me; for if they humble themselves before me, and have faith in me, then will I make weak things become strong unto them."
This week as I was thinking about all the things I need to do and improve, I thought of this scripture. The peace and hope I felt was incredible. I have so many weaknesses but know that if I humble myself before the lord and ask for help, the Savior's grace is sufficient to make my weaknesses BECOME STRENGTHS. I'm so grateful for the Savior’s atonement and for his grace! If any of you guys feel like you aren't good enough in any way, you are good enough. Through the saviors atonement you can do anything. I have seen it day after day here in Guatemala. His atonement and grace is real!!!
Love you all!
