No Baptism :(

 Hi everyone!!

I hope you guys had a great week!

This week was almost awesome. Bruno's baptism was planned for Saturday but it ended up falling through.

So on Wednesday evening we went to the Family of 12 (The family Esperanza). Only 6 of the kids are at home, the other 6 live out of the house. After the lesson we invited them to be baptized and almost all said yes! Michelle (14), Gabriela (12), Jose (11), Erika (8). Keyli (17) said she wants to think about it and Ruby (5) isn't old enough haha. They are all super awesome and so nice. The mom (Ilda) is incredibly nice as well. Today we went to their house to learn how to make doblados, tostones, and arroz con chocolate. It was so fun and sooo yummy. I have some pics.

Okay so on Saturday we had the baptism. Went to the chapel to clean, set up chairs, and fill the font. The baptism was at 5 and Bruno was supposed to show up at 4 or 4:30 with a member. At 4:30 the member told us Bruno wasn't home and because he doesn't have a phone we can't call him or anything. So we had the ward mission leader drive us to his house and we decided to check his work which was just around the corner. Wasn't there. Then down the road we saw him walking towards us!! But then when he saw us he turned around... so we started walking after him. He took a few turns and finally we were close enough to yell to him. After a few tries he finally answered us and said, “Wait here I'm working. I will be right back" then started running!!! He took a turn and we watched him a little before he took another turn. We didn't think he would come back but we waited for 20 minutes anyways. He never showed up. It was tough I'm not going to lie. I was going to do the baptism and was so excited so when it didn't happen it was a little sad. It's not the end of the world though because he knows about Jesus Christ and the restored gospel now!

A good thing about this week was we had 6 people attend church! One of them was the Ganuza family (Marisol, Cynthia, Oscar, and Scarlett). That was definitely a blessing for us!! We taught Cynthia for the first time on Monday and it was awesome! They are a great family.

My spiritual thought from this week comes from a church video. "Running Toward The Light",

"When you're running from the darkness there is a feeling of fear. But when you're running towards the light there is hope. You know you're running to strength and peace and happiness. We all need to be running to the light."

What I like about this is the perspective we have. If we are running from things in our lives, whatever they may be, don't be running from the darkness, run towards the light. When we run towards the light, it will feel easier and we will be happier in what we do. The Gospel of Jesus Christ brings so much peace and joy into our lives.

Have a great week!!!
