Transfers!

What's up everyone!!

This week we had transfers and I am staying in this area but with a new companion! His name is Elder Chavez and he is from el Salvador.

We got the flu vaccine on Friday and got to see a few other zones which was fun! We had to go to a different city zone which is also cool. 

On Saturday we got to go to the temple with Victoria and her kids and Hellen! And we got to sit on the temple grounds and enjoy the peace that is felt at the temple. We even had a little picnic. We talked about why we have temples and what makes them so special. They loved it and it was a very good experience. 



Afterwards we had the baptisms of Yoshwin and Ashwell! It was awesome. They were soooo excited. When Elder Martinez told them he was leaving they were a little sad :/. 






This week we didn't have anything super special besides transfers yesterday. It was tough because I didn't get much sleep Monday or Tuesday night but it's all good I'm ready for this transfer! It will definitely be a cool experience leading the area and I am excited to see how I grow because I know I am going to grow sooo much! 

Spiritual thought this week is about obedience. When we are obedient to God's commandments, we receive more blessings than we could ever imagine! Russel M. Nelson said "Obedience brings success; exact obedience brings miracles." When we are exactly obedient to the commandments of God, our lives will be filled with miracles! I have seen it here in my mission and it's 100% true. Obedience brings so much joy to our life:)

Big Changes

  Hey everyone!!   So this week we had transfers and I got moved to a super cool area called San Lucas Toliman. It's on the famous Lake Atitlan and surrounded by volcanoes. It is soooo pretty here!! I don't have a ton of pictures but I will take more this week don't worry. My companion is Elder Perez from Mexico and I am starting his training!!! I'm so excited and there's tons of work to do here.  The missionaries before us really didn't leave us anything to work with so we are starting from 0... but with a little bit of hard work and some time we will see miracles!!  This week in my studies I came across a verse from Doctrine and Covenants section 50:44 "44 Wherefore, I am in your midst, and I am the good shepherd, and the stone of Israel. He that buildeth upon this rock shall never fall." I love that it has two different names of Christ and that it gives us a promise. If we build upon his rock, we will never fall!!  Such a big blessing.  Happy new ye...

Baptism!

  Hey everyone!!! So, I probably won’t send very long emails until the last week... but these last two weeks have been awesome!   Last Sunday we had 11 people come to church, which is the biggest number I have ever had or seen!! SUCH A BIG MIRACLE for me.  On Saturday we were able to baptize Abigail, which was also another miracle story. After, she texted us and told us how grateful she was and that she will never forget us and hopes we never forget her. I love being a missionary.  This coming week we already have super big days planned with a lot of new potential people and I am so excited and am trying to finish strong! Last Tuesday we went to the temple. That was one of the best, most spiritual experiences on my mission.    I don't have much time left but just trying to finish strong!!   I have been putting "be happy" at the end of my emails for a little while now because I truly believe that being happy is a choice. Time is Running Out

Heyyyy everyone I hope you are all doing good!!  I didn't send an email last week sorry about that. But these last two weeks have been super good!! We have seen the Lord's hand and his timing in everything.  We were walking up a street trying to talk to everyone and then this mom and son stopped us and offered us some empanadas. My companion bought one and then we talked to them about the church! We had a visit with them a little bit after and they told us they NEVER walk down that one street but for whatever reason decided to walk down it. So that's cool. We are really hoping we can help them come to church.  We got a referral from the bishop’s wife. Her name is Abigail. Somehow Abigail was talking to the missionaries 2 years ago but never had time to go to church. And then somehow found the bishop’s wife's number. She has come the last 2 Sundays and is super ready. She told us she had already received her answer about the Book of Mormón and the church. So cool.  He...
