A Tribute to Elder Esplin

If you're Elder Esplin you're probably wondering why I titled this email a tribute to Elder Esplin. If you're not Elder Esplin you're probably also wondering why. If you're Elder Esplin you'll find out shortly. If you aren't, sorry. 

So I'm going to start off by saying READ THE BOOK OF MORMON PLEASE. It is the best book ever. In the whole entire world. Read it. 

Started off this week with divisions with Elder Lemone!!!! And this time I got to go to his area :). It was a pretty fun time. 

You guys should all read the Book of Mormon tonight. 





Then Saturday we had the baptisms of the twins Silvia and Brenda Ortiz!!! It was a very good baptism and they were so happy!  Right after that we went to the stake center to help finish off a mini MTC activity with the youth. We got free lunch and got to hear testimonies. We missed the actual teaching and contacting things though:/. Then we went to a ward cleaning the chapel activity!! It was super awesome and we got to eat dinner afterwards. I love the members here more and more every week. And they cook good food too:)


Tuesday night at 8 I got a call from the secretary and he told me that I had immigration today. So currenlty in a van on my way home from the capital. I had to wake up at 3 and haven't eaten anything :(( but hey I'm only 4 weeks away from being a resident of Guatemala!! That's cool. 

So my spiritual thought this week is that all of you need to read the Book of Mormon. It honestly doesn't matter where you read. But read about it and gain a testimony of it. If you want some ideas on what to read here are some of my favorite chapters:

Big Changes

  Hey everyone!!   So this week we had transfers and I got moved to a super cool area called San Lucas Toliman. It's on the famous Lake Atitlan and surrounded by volcanoes. It is soooo pretty here!! I don't have a ton of pictures but I will take more this week don't worry. My companion is Elder Perez from Mexico and I am starting his training!!! I'm so excited and there's tons of work to do here.  The missionaries before us really didn't leave us anything to work with so we are starting from 0... but with a little bit of hard work and some time we will see miracles!!  This week in my studies I came across a verse from Doctrine and Covenants section 50:44 "44 Wherefore, I am in your midst, and I am the good shepherd, and the stone of Israel. He that buildeth upon this rock shall never fall." I love that it has two different names of Christ and that it gives us a promise. If we build upon his rock, we will never fall!!  Such a big blessing.  Happy new ye...

Baptism!

  Hey everyone!!! So, I probably won’t send very long emails until the last week... but these last two weeks have been awesome!   Last Sunday we had 11 people come to church, which is the biggest number I have ever had or seen!! SUCH A BIG MIRACLE for me.  On Saturday we were able to baptize Abigail, which was also another miracle story. After, she texted us and told us how grateful she was and that she will never forget us and hopes we never forget her. I love being a missionary.  This coming week we already have super big days planned with a lot of new potential people and I am so excited and am trying to finish strong! Last Tuesday we went to the temple. That was one of the best, most spiritual experiences on my mission.    I don't have much time left but just trying to finish strong!!   I have been putting "be happy" at the end of my emails for a little while now because I truly believe that being happy is a choice. Time is Running Out

Heyyyy everyone I hope you are all doing good!!  I didn't send an email last week sorry about that. But these last two weeks have been super good!! We have seen the Lord's hand and his timing in everything.  We were walking up a street trying to talk to everyone and then this mom and son stopped us and offered us some empanadas. My companion bought one and then we talked to them about the church! We had a visit with them a little bit after and they told us they NEVER walk down that one street but for whatever reason decided to walk down it. So that's cool. We are really hoping we can help them come to church.  We got a referral from the bishop’s wife. Her name is Abigail. Somehow Abigail was talking to the missionaries 2 years ago but never had time to go to church. And then somehow found the bishop’s wife's number. She has come the last 2 Sundays and is super ready. She told us she had already received her answer about the Book of Mormón and the church. So cool.  He...
