I’m living in a Hurricane!??!

 Hello everyone!!!

Yes the title is true - sorta. But I'll get to that later

So this week was a solid week. Started off with Elder Chavez having immigration:/ which meant we had to wake up at 3. Butttt Elder Chavez didn't wake up to the alarm and we missed our uber... so we called a bunch of people and eventually made it to the city for him to do his stuff! While I waited outside with the uber driver, we got to eat McDonald's breakfast 😋 and the best part is he paid for me.

Saturday we got invited to a birthday party of a member!! So we went to that and got to hangout with all of his family and eat delicious food called Churasco. Basically Guatemalan BBQ meat with refined beans, salsa, guacamole, and of course tortillas. It's really good.

Okay so the hurricane... Hurricane Julia (I think) is currenlty hitting the coast of Guatemala so Monday at 8:30 the APs told us that we all have to stay inside ALL day... because the rain was supposed to be super super strong. But at 3:30 they said that the hurricane is going somewhere else and we could go outside. It rained all day but nothing crazy. We had to have District council on zoom though and that was not great. Not sure how all of the coivd missionaries survived if I'm being honest.

With our investigators this week we made some progress with Hellen, Victoria, and Fernanda. We are hoping and working with them to be baptized this month!! Butttt Victoria and Hellen don't have a testimony of the Book of Mormon or Joseph Smith yet... so we need to work with that.

Spiritual thought this week comes from Mosiah 2:41

41 And moreover, I would desire that ye should consider on the blessed and happy state of those that keep the commandments of God. For behold, they are blessed in all things, both temporal and spiritual; and if they hold out faithful to the end they are received into heaven, that thereby they may dwell with God in a state of never-ending happiness. O remember, remember that these things are true; for the Lord God hath spoken it.

There is soooo much in this verse. I will try to share my thoughts in a short simple way
1. Those who keep the commandments (aka obedient) are blessed and happy
2. Those who keep the commandments are blessed in spiritual things AND TEMPORAL things
3. If we hold out faithful until the end, keeping all of the commandments and Covenants, we are recieved into heaven and dwell with God in a state of
NEVER-ENDING happiness!
4. REMEBER that these things are true. In a world so busy, it’s easy to forget even the simplest truths.

Love you all!!! Have an awesome week and remember it's all about Jesus!
