Zone Conference!

Heyyyy everyone!!! 


This week was a pretty solid week. We worked really hard on finding new people to teach and meeting members!! We finally got to meet with the Bishop and he is so awesome. He also wants to split the ward this year! They need 50 more attendances to do it so we want to help him with that.

We have one person we found and are teaching named Marcos. We taught him lesson 1 and he really liked it! We felt the spirit really strong and we have another visit on Saturday. 



On Thursday we ran out of water... and we didn't know how to fix it because no one told us anything about the house. The next 2 days we heated water up in a pot and used that to wash clothes. Not very fun when our house is so cold!!! But then after talking to a few people and some members, we got it figured out. Turns out we just have to turn on a switch for like 10 minutes haha. But now we have water and it's great. 

We visited this family on Monday and taught them about the restoration and then invited them to be a missionary family for a week! Thennn they gave us the best churasco that I've ever had. Thin slices of beef and sausages with beans and tortillas. It was so tasty. 


Tuesday we had zone conference and got to have interviews with President Probst!! It was a very good conference and we left ready to work!!!

My favorite quote from Elder Reid this week, "Hey bud, will you load." He's starting to talk like me sometimes 😅

Spiritual thought this week is from the talk "Are You Still Willing" by Kevin Pearson in October. He said, "Discipleship is not cheap, because the companionship of the Holy Ghost is priceless." What a powerful and TRUE statement. The Holy Ghost really is pricless. Elder Reid and I have been working on being closer to the spirit and the difference it has made in the work is incredible. The spirit will make every challenge, every trial, every affliction more bearable. The spirit brings light into our lives like nothing else. When we have the spirit, we are happier. I invite you all to evaluate your life and ask yourself if you could be doing more to have the pricless gift of the Holy Ghost more in your lives. It's worth every sacrifice and effort required.

Big Changes

  Hey everyone!!   So this week we had transfers and I got moved to a super cool area called San Lucas Toliman. It's on the famous Lake Atitlan and surrounded by volcanoes. It is soooo pretty here!! I don't have a ton of pictures but I will take more this week don't worry. My companion is Elder Perez from Mexico and I am starting his training!!! I'm so excited and there's tons of work to do here.  The missionaries before us really didn't leave us anything to work with so we are starting from 0... but with a little bit of hard work and some time we will see miracles!!  This week in my studies I came across a verse from Doctrine and Covenants section 50:44 "44 Wherefore, I am in your midst, and I am the good shepherd, and the stone of Israel. He that buildeth upon this rock shall never fall." I love that it has two different names of Christ and that it gives us a promise. If we build upon his rock, we will never fall!!  Such a big blessing.  Happy new ye...

Baptism!

  Hey everyone!!! So, I probably won’t send very long emails until the last week... but these last two weeks have been awesome!   Last Sunday we had 11 people come to church, which is the biggest number I have ever had or seen!! SUCH A BIG MIRACLE for me.  On Saturday we were able to baptize Abigail, which was also another miracle story. After, she texted us and told us how grateful she was and that she will never forget us and hopes we never forget her. I love being a missionary.  This coming week we already have super big days planned with a lot of new potential people and I am so excited and am trying to finish strong! Last Tuesday we went to the temple. That was one of the best, most spiritual experiences on my mission.    I don't have much time left but just trying to finish strong!!   I have been putting "be happy" at the end of my emails for a little while now because I truly believe that being happy is a choice. Time is Running Out

Heyyyy everyone I hope you are all doing good!!  I didn't send an email last week sorry about that. But these last two weeks have been super good!! We have seen the Lord's hand and his timing in everything.  We were walking up a street trying to talk to everyone and then this mom and son stopped us and offered us some empanadas. My companion bought one and then we talked to them about the church! We had a visit with them a little bit after and they told us they NEVER walk down that one street but for whatever reason decided to walk down it. So that's cool. We are really hoping we can help them come to church.  We got a referral from the bishop’s wife. Her name is Abigail. Somehow Abigail was talking to the missionaries 2 years ago but never had time to go to church. And then somehow found the bishop’s wife's number. She has come the last 2 Sundays and is super ready. She told us she had already received her answer about the Book of Mormón and the church. So cool.  He...
