Time is almost up!
Hey everyone!!!
This week was a very good week. Went by very fast and we have transfers in like 10 days :/
But we started this week with being in a trio with one of the assistants to the president! Elder Barahona. That was fun and interesting. He can eat soooooo much haha it was so fun. We met with a 9 year old boy who wants to be baptized but is a little scared of the water. So we are trying to encourage and motive him to be excited and want to be baptized in March!
Funny story…
Wednesday we went to a village in the mountains called Chichoy Paraíso. We met with a lady we talked to a few weeks back in town. We got to know her a little and then we shared a message. She then asked us if we did anything else besides share messages about Jesus Christ. We replied with "of course! We serve and help others!" She said, "Can you guys build me a house please?” We were a little shocked and surprised. Sadly, we responded and said we couldn't build a house. And we don't really know how to anyways. We then met with her mom and sister down the hill. We talked a little and they ALSO asked us to build them a house. We said no. They then said, "Maybe something economical? Like money?" And we said not that either haha. So it was a little interesting. I won't lie though, they didn't ask us very nicely. But it was a little sad. They don't have much out there.
I read some interesting scriptures that relate back to last week’s email about desire.
Alma 41:5-6
"The one raised to happiness according to his desires of happiness, or good according to his desires of good; and the other to evil according to his desires of evil...
"And so it is on the other hand. If he hath repented of his sins, and desired righteousness until the end of his days, even so he shall be rewarded unto righteousness."
I like how it talks about if we DESIRE good and righteousness, and if we repent, we will be rewarded unto our desires, or RIGHTEOUSNESS!!! And in Alma 32 we learn that all we need is a desire to believe. Same here. It starts with a desire. A desire for righteousness. A desire to be 1% better every day. I know we can all start being 1% better... all we have to do is start with a desire!!
Love you all!!
Elder
