Transfers
Hey everyone! I hope you all had a good week.
Well this week was a big change!! I got a a latino companion and I'm finishing his training, so he only has a month and a half in the mission. Elder Bautista, from Mexico! I will definitely learn lots of Spanish this transfer and am so excited.
This week because we really don't have a whole lot of people that we are teaching, we spent some good time trying to find new people. But honeslty we didn't have much success. It was tough. But, on Sunday we had an incredible day. We went to an Aldea (village) with the elders quorum presidency. It was like 30-45 minutes In car. And we met this part member family. One of the sons, Nephi, is not baptized and would like to learn more! But the thing is he doesn't know very much Spanish. Just the native language. So the elders quorum presidency had to do most of the teaching haha. It was so cool to be apart of a lesson in that language tho! They live very far so it might be a challenge to get them to church. But he really wants to learn more.
Now, let's just say this week was a little tough at first. Like every day except Sunday. But I've learned a lot about change. When we go through change, we learn the most. It's hard and we are put in situations we don't want to be in. But during those situations, we grow and learn more than we ever would without it. And I've thought a lot about change and why it's hard and what you need to do during change. And really, it's all about Jesus. It's all about your faith in Jesus Christ and His Atonement. Faith in his power. Faith in his love. He is walking every step of the way with you during change. And if you have faith in Him, he can carry you. He loves you soooo much that he doesn't want you to suffer. So, if you have faith in Him and call upon his power through prayer, I promise that you will feel and see his hand in your life. It reminds me of Peter, when he was walking on water in the new testament:
Matthew 14: 30 But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me. 31 And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?"
Peter looked at the boisterous wind and was afraid. We can sometimes see the scary change coming in front of us and doubt that the Lord can help us. But he is with us every single step. He will IMMEDIATELY stretch forth his hand when we call upon him. I know this with all of my heart and soul and I promise you too can receive his power and help. It is a promise to every single one of you, you just have to exercise your faith.
Here are a few quotes from President Nelson that I like about faith:
"Truly, faith is the power that enables the unlikely to accomplish the impossible."
"Faith always increases our access to Godly power."
"He works miracles today and he will work miracles tomorrow."
"Faith in Jesus Christ is the greatest power available to us in this life. All things are possible to them that believe."
I love you all!! Have a good week and don't forget to pray
