Hi everyone!
This week was a good week! The last week of the transfer and my last week here. Tomorrow I will be going to a new area!
On Wednesday we finally moved houses!! The new house is super super nice.... too bad I’m leaving haha. But we didnt have power for 16 days and no water for 13 days. It was an interesting experience to say the least.
We visited our friend Benjamin Tuesday to see what he thought about baptism. He is 9 years old and was afraid of the water. So we set a date for the 8th. He accepted and seemed excited! We went back Thursday and Friday to finalize everything and Saturday we had the baptism. He showed up and was super exicited. But when it was time to enter the font, he got super scared and started crying. A minute later her came into the font with me but was still crying. He really didn’t want to go under the water... but after 5 or 10 minutes and help from Elder Bautista and the ward mission leader, we were able to perform the baptism. Afterwards, he was sooo happy. We ate cake and pizza. It was super special.
I have loved my time here in Patzun. The members are awesome and will be missed. But I know Heavenly Father has a place prepared for me somewhere else. My time with Elder Bautista was short but good. I’m excited to see where I go!
For my spiritual thought this week I have a picture and a few thoughts. In John 14 we read some really good scriptures about Christ comforting us. But in verse 18 he says,
“I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.”
And a quote from Truman G. Madsen says,
“He did not just descend to your condition; he descended below it."
Now, look at this picture.
Many of us are familiar with the picture of Christ reaching into the water to pull us up. But what I like about this picture is Christ has us in his arms, swimming up. The only way he could have us in his arms is if he CAME to us and descended BELOW us to LIFT US UP. Christ knows how we feel. He descended below our trials and suffering and therefore is PERFECTLY positioned to lift us up. I love you all so much. Christ loves you all so much. Call upon him and he will come to you and lift you up!!!
