Transfer News!

 Hey everyone! Hope you are all doing good! 


Well we had transfers and I am now in Chimaltenango again! The same zone I started my mission in. Everyone wants to be here in this zone and I'm really excited. It was sad saying goodbye to Elder Martinez but I'm excited for this next transfer. 



Before I left Mixco we had a lesson with Fabricio! It was pretty good but sad to say goodbye to them. I really enjoyed my time visiting them. I hope Fabricio can take the step and be baptized! 

On Friday we had transfers and when I got to my new area - which is called Chimaltenango 1 (or chimal 1 for short) we had lessons and visits. On Saturday we had a full day and visiting people and having lessons. That night we ate tortillas de harina. Which  was like one of the best things I’ve ever eaten (picture below).


On Sunday I got super sick. I had diarrhea, a fever, a headache, and was not doing good. It hit me around 12. I slept allll afternoon and it sucked. I haven't been this sick since my first transfer! Today I feel a lot better but still not great. 

I read Elder renlund's talk this week and want to share something I liked:
"when we yield “to the enticings of the Holy Spirit” and put off the selfish tendencies of the natural man or woman, we can receive the Savior’s transforming power in our lives, the power to do difficult things."

Going against the natural man isn't easy but it is possible. If we yield to the impressions of the spirit we will receive Christ's power to overcome the natural man. By doing so we will be so much happier.

Big Changes

  Hey everyone!!   So this week we had transfers and I got moved to a super cool area called San Lucas Toliman. It's on the famous Lake Atitlan and surrounded by volcanoes. It is soooo pretty here!! I don't have a ton of pictures but I will take more this week don't worry. My companion is Elder Perez from Mexico and I am starting his training!!! I'm so excited and there's tons of work to do here.  The missionaries before us really didn't leave us anything to work with so we are starting from 0... but with a little bit of hard work and some time we will see miracles!!  This week in my studies I came across a verse from Doctrine and Covenants section 50:44 "44 Wherefore, I am in your midst, and I am the good shepherd, and the stone of Israel. He that buildeth upon this rock shall never fall." I love that it has two different names of Christ and that it gives us a promise. If we build upon his rock, we will never fall!!  Such a big blessing.  Happy new ye...

Baptism!

  Hey everyone!!! So, I probably won’t send very long emails until the last week... but these last two weeks have been awesome!   Last Sunday we had 11 people come to church, which is the biggest number I have ever had or seen!! SUCH A BIG MIRACLE for me.  On Saturday we were able to baptize Abigail, which was also another miracle story. After, she texted us and told us how grateful she was and that she will never forget us and hopes we never forget her. I love being a missionary.  This coming week we already have super big days planned with a lot of new potential people and I am so excited and am trying to finish strong! Last Tuesday we went to the temple. That was one of the best, most spiritual experiences on my mission.    I don't have much time left but just trying to finish strong!!   I have been putting "be happy" at the end of my emails for a little while now because I truly believe that being happy is a choice. Time is Running Out

Heyyyy everyone I hope you are all doing good!!  I didn't send an email last week sorry about that. But these last two weeks have been super good!! We have seen the Lord's hand and his timing in everything.  We were walking up a street trying to talk to everyone and then this mom and son stopped us and offered us some empanadas. My companion bought one and then we talked to them about the church! We had a visit with them a little bit after and they told us they NEVER walk down that one street but for whatever reason decided to walk down it. So that's cool. We are really hoping we can help them come to church.  We got a referral from the bishop’s wife. Her name is Abigail. Somehow Abigail was talking to the missionaries 2 years ago but never had time to go to church. And then somehow found the bishop’s wife's number. She has come the last 2 Sundays and is super ready. She told us she had already received her answer about the Book of Mormón and the church. So cool.  He...
