Transfer News!

 Hey everyone!!!! 


So good to be writing you guys again. 

So my old companion got transferred to my oldd area and I received a new companion - elder Ovando. He is from Boliva and has the same time on the mission as me! We have gotten along super good in these few days and I am PUMPED for this transfer. We are going to do big things... 

So this week we got to meet with Karla. Her husband Carlos is a member returning to activity and they are both super motivated to be going to church and learning more. 

Karla is a catholic and so learning about the church is a big change for her... but we are going to meet with them LOTS and see what miracles come. We got to meet with them on Saturday and it was a super spiritual lesson.  I'm excited. 

This week we have a training from the area president elder Godoy and I'm really excited for that!!! We will also be receiving a phone for each missionary.... that will be wild. 

So I read "The Love Of God" by Elder Christofferson a while ago and I just got the feeling to go look through my notes again and found this little quote. 
"As we abide in God’s love, we depend less and less on the approval of others to guide us."
Abiding, or remaining, in His love will help us to be ourselves and not worry about what others think. But why? Because we will have a better understanding of who we are. We will feel that God loves us how we are! We will understand our divine and eternal potential. Pretty cool to think about. I want you all to focus on abiding in His love!! Big Changes

  Hey everyone!!   So this week we had transfers and I got moved to a super cool area called San Lucas Toliman. It's on the famous Lake Atitlan and surrounded by volcanoes. It is soooo pretty here!! I don't have a ton of pictures but I will take more this week don't worry. My companion is Elder Perez from Mexico and I am starting his training!!! I'm so excited and there's tons of work to do here.  The missionaries before us really didn't leave us anything to work with so we are starting from 0... but with a little bit of hard work and some time we will see miracles!!  This week in my studies I came across a verse from Doctrine and Covenants section 50:44 "44 Wherefore, I am in your midst, and I am the good shepherd, and the stone of Israel. He that buildeth upon this rock shall never fall." I love that it has two different names of Christ and that it gives us a promise. If we build upon his rock, we will never fall!!  Such a big blessing.  Happy new ye...

Baptism!

  Hey everyone!!! So, I probably won’t send very long emails until the last week... but these last two weeks have been awesome!   Last Sunday we had 11 people come to church, which is the biggest number I have ever had or seen!! SUCH A BIG MIRACLE for me.  On Saturday we were able to baptize Abigail, which was also another miracle story. After, she texted us and told us how grateful she was and that she will never forget us and hopes we never forget her. I love being a missionary.  This coming week we already have super big days planned with a lot of new potential people and I am so excited and am trying to finish strong! Last Tuesday we went to the temple. That was one of the best, most spiritual experiences on my mission.    I don't have much time left but just trying to finish strong!!   I have been putting "be happy" at the end of my emails for a little while now because I truly believe that being happy is a choice. Time is Running Out

Heyyyy everyone I hope you are all doing good!!  I didn't send an email last week sorry about that. But these last two weeks have been super good!! We have seen the Lord's hand and his timing in everything.  We were walking up a street trying to talk to everyone and then this mom and son stopped us and offered us some empanadas. My companion bought one and then we talked to them about the church! We had a visit with them a little bit after and they told us they NEVER walk down that one street but for whatever reason decided to walk down it. So that's cool. We are really hoping we can help them come to church.  We got a referral from the bishop’s wife. Her name is Abigail. Somehow Abigail was talking to the missionaries 2 years ago but never had time to go to church. And then somehow found the bishop’s wife's number. She has come the last 2 Sundays and is super ready. She told us she had already received her answer about the Book of Mormón and the church. So cool.  He...
