Love
Hey everyone what is up!
I hope yall are good.
This week was pretty good!! We got to meet with the family of Pamela Larios a few times and it went really good. Pamela was asking some good questions but we learned that she is evangelical. Which isn't a problem at all. They said they would all come to church on Sunday because it was stake conference... but never showed up:( but we have a nother visit with the family Wednesday!!
We have been teaching a guy named Ubaldo. He is a reference from a Facebook ad a few weeks ago. When we started teaching him he didn't belive or know anything about God (the first person I’ve taught that didn't believe). So we have been teaching the basics. We even had to explain who is Satan. But he has a sincere desire to learn and has told us that he is starting to believe!! The challenge with him is getting in contact and teaching him because he never answers his phone... but we should get a few more lessons this week.
We had stake conference this week and that was pretty good. Unfortunately we didn't have very many friends come. But on Tuesday we are going to have a baptism!! It's a 10 year old girl who is scared of the water. But she said that she wants to try with us. So that's fun.
Friday we have transfers and I'm probably going to leave... I have 4.5 months here. But we will see.
Spiritual thought (it's really long but I hope you read it, at least the first paragraph).
Most of us are willing to give all of our love to someone or something here on the earth ie. spouse. But how is it that we can't give all of our love to our Heavenly Father and Savior Jesus Christ when they have given us EVERYTHING and all of their love?
If you think about taking away things they have given us (a beautiful earth intelligent minds, friends, family, the gospel) life seems pretty boring and sad. And then obviously if you take away our bodies and lives, well we wouldn't even be here. But yet we take it all for granted. We feel like we are entitled to all of the blessings. When we don't get a blessing, we get mad. When we have a trial, we blame God. But do we really give the sufficient gratitude for our blessings?
My thoughts on the first question: it is because we lack faith. We don't give God all of our love because we don't have sufficient faith. We can easily give our love to people and things here on the earth because we don't need faith. We can see it all. But we need to have faith in God before we can give him our love.
Apart from that, the first great commandments is love God with all your heart, might, mind, and strength. We start to keep that commandment because we have faith in him. And faith without works is dead. Then, as Jesus said, "if ye love me, keep my commandments". We will keep all the commandments if we love him and have faith in him.
I won't make it longer than that but I invite you all to think about to what or to whom you are giving all of your love - God first? Or someone(thing) here on earth?
I love you all!!!!
