Choose Christ

Hey everyone!! How was your week? 

This week was super awesome and went by so fast! 

I have gotten to know the area more and some of the people here. We are teaching a family. The Perez family. It's a family of 4 and the kids are 9 and 6 years old. This week was like the 2nd week teaching them. And they had soooo many trials this week. Really hard trials economically and with health. But it seems they are putting their trust in God and next Sunday they should be able to come to church with us! 


Being in the office is a little different. Every day we go to the office and have little things to do there until about 2 or 3. Then we go out to the area and work. It's very different than what I'm used to but it's good. There are senior missionaries In the office and they are the best - they feel like my 3rd set of grandparents haha. They even bring baked goods every week :) 

This week will be a very busy week. On Friday we will be having a conference with 3 other missionaries and Elder Cook! So we will be organizing lots of things for that but I'm so excited to hear Elder Cook! 

One of the quotes of the day this week was from President Nelson and so I re-read his talk and really like this:

"However, your choices today will determine three things: where you will live throughout all eternity, the kind of body with which you will be resurrected, and those with whom you will live forever. So, think celestial."

This life is SO IMPORTANT. What we choose to do here will affect everything for the eternities. Please choose Christ. He is the answer. He is the life. He is the way. By following him we will be lead to eternal happiness with our families.

Big Changes

  Hey everyone!!   So this week we had transfers and I got moved to a super cool area called San Lucas Toliman. It's on the famous Lake Atitlan and surrounded by volcanoes. It is soooo pretty here!! I don't have a ton of pictures but I will take more this week don't worry. My companion is Elder Perez from Mexico and I am starting his training!!! I'm so excited and there's tons of work to do here.  The missionaries before us really didn't leave us anything to work with so we are starting from 0... but with a little bit of hard work and some time we will see miracles!!  This week in my studies I came across a verse from Doctrine and Covenants section 50:44 "44 Wherefore, I am in your midst, and I am the good shepherd, and the stone of Israel. He that buildeth upon this rock shall never fall." I love that it has two different names of Christ and that it gives us a promise. Baptism!

  Hey everyone!!! So, I probably won’t send very long emails until the last week... but these last two weeks have been awesome!   Last Sunday we had 11 people come to church, which is the biggest number I have ever had or seen!! SUCH A BIG MIRACLE for me.  On Saturday we were able to baptize Abigail, which was also another miracle story. After, she texted us and told us how grateful she was and that she will never forget us and hopes we never forget her. I love being a missionary.  This coming week we already have super big days planned with a lot of new potential people and I am so excited and am trying to finish strong! Last Tuesday we went to the temple. That was one of the best, most spiritual experiences on my mission.    I don't have much time left but just trying to finish strong!!   I have been putting "be happy" at the end of my emails for a little while now because I truly believe that being happy is a choice. Time is Running Out

Heyyyy everyone I hope you are all doing good!!  I didn't send an email last week sorry about that. But these last two weeks have been super good!! We have seen the Lord's hand and his timing in everything.  We were walking up a street trying to talk to everyone and then this mom and son stopped us and offered us some empanadas. My companion bought one and then we talked to them about the church! We had a visit with them a little bit after and they told us they NEVER walk down that one street but for whatever reason decided to walk down it. So that's cool. We are really hoping we can help them come to church.  We got a referral from the bishop’s wife. Her name is Abigail. Somehow Abigail was talking to the missionaries 2 years ago but never had time to go to church. And then somehow found the bishop’s wife's number. She has come the last 2 Sundays and is super ready. She told us she had already received her answer about the Book of Mormón and the church. So cool.  He...
