Miracles

Hey everyone!


This week was such an awesome week. Maybe one of the best in my mission. We were able to visit lots of members trying to strengthen their testimonios and return to church and have some really spiritual lessons. We even had 4 of them come to church!! 

We also met with Manuel. Talked about lots of things and the importance of the Sabbath day. He is reading the Book of Mormon and has some awesome questions for us. And on Sunday, he came to church!! It is such a miracle the way he is progressing. 




In Alma 37 we read about Alma teach a little about the Liahona. Verse 44 says 
44 For behold, it is as easy to give heed to the word of Christ, which will point to you a straight course to eternal bliss, as it was for our fathers to give heed to this compass, which would point unto them a straight course to the promised land. 

I love the wording here. "The word of Christ will point to you a straight course to eternal bliss." What comes to you mind when you read "eternal bliss"? If it's anything like what I picture, it is something wonderful. Something that I really can't describe. But I know it is something I really want. And how can you and I get it? The word of Christ. 

Remember that Nephi taught that the words of Christ will tell you all things what ye should do. I invite you all to read the Book of Mormon daily and apply the principles in your life.  I promise that as you follow the words of Christ, you will be lead on a straight course of happiness to eternal bliss.

Big Changes

  Hey everyone!!   So this week we had transfers and I got moved to a super cool area called San Lucas Toliman. It's on the famous Lake Atitlan and surrounded by volcanoes. It is soooo pretty here!! I don't have a ton of pictures but I will take more this week don't worry. My companion is Elder Perez from Mexico and I am starting his training!!! I'm so excited and there's tons of work to do here.  The missionaries before us really didn't leave us anything to work with so we are starting from 0... but with a little bit of hard work and some time we will see miracles!!  This week in my studies I came across a verse from Doctrine and Covenants section 50:44 "44 Wherefore, I am in your midst, and I am the good shepherd, and the stone of Israel. He that buildeth upon this rock shall never fall." I love that it has two different names of Christ and that it gives us a promise. If we build upon his rock, we will never fall!!  Such a big blessing.  Happy new ye...

Baptism!

  Hey everyone!!! So, I probably won’t send very long emails until the last week... but these last two weeks have been awesome!   Last Sunday we had 11 people come to church, which is the biggest number I have ever had or seen!! SUCH A BIG MIRACLE for me.  On Saturday we were able to baptize Abigail, which was also another miracle story. After, she texted us and told us how grateful she was and that she will never forget us and hopes we never forget her. I love being a missionary.  This coming week we already have super big days planned with a lot of new potential people and I am so excited and am trying to finish strong! Last Tuesday we went to the temple. That was one of the best, most spiritual experiences on my mission.    I don't have much time left but just trying to finish strong!!   I have been putting "be happy" at the end of my emails for a little while now because I truly believe that being happy is a choice. Time is Running Out

Heyyyy everyone I hope you are all doing good!!  I didn't send an email last week sorry about that. But these last two weeks have been super good!! We have seen the Lord's hand and his timing in everything.  We were walking up a street trying to talk to everyone and then this mom and son stopped us and offered us some empanadas. My companion bought one and then we talked to them about the church! We had a visit with them a little bit after and they told us they NEVER walk down that one street but for whatever reason decided to walk down it. So that's cool. We are really hoping we can help them come to church.  We got a referral from the bishop’s wife. Her name is Abigail. Somehow Abigail was talking to the missionaries 2 years ago but never had time to go to church. And then somehow found the bishop’s wife's number. She has come the last 2 Sundays and is super ready. She told us she had already received her answer about the Book of Mormón and the church. So cool.  He...
