Transfers!

Image
Heyyyyyy everybody!! This week was pretty wild. On Tuesday we finalized transfers with the president!  On Wednesday we were with the missionaries that were going home which was pretty cool. I was able to hear their testimonies. That was super cool. Then on Thursday the new missionaries came here at around 1. We had lunch with them and then they had interviews with the president and a small training. They come soooo tired but then we went out to our area and worked with them. I was with a guatemalteco and a Utahn. We had a really good 1 hour of work! Then on Friday we had transfers which were pretty crazy but went somewhat smoothly.  I got a new companion. His name is Elder Johnston, he's from Utah and we are already homies so it'll be fun. Also, a new secretary came. His name is Elder Currit., He is also one of my best friends so I'm so excited! Carlos, Yesenia, Brandon, and Anderson Perez and Julio, Ana, and Angie Vega: We started tea...

Service!

Holaaaaa This week was pretty awesome!!  It started with divisions on Tuesday... so we went to a place called Patzicia. Then they told us there was a service - which is great. We love service. So after our district council we went with the zone to the service.... then we saw 400 cinder blocks that had to be moved up a 200m hill... so we got to work. We were 13 missionaries and to make it faster we did a chain. About 2.5 hours and we got half done. Everyone was sweating and thirsty but we left and got to work in our areas.  I went with Elder Sharp and Elder Colque. We had a good day with a few visits. Then Wednesday morning we went back to the service to  finish at 8am ... we were so tired and sore and really didn't wanna do it haha. But we got to work and took a lot more breaks that time. We finally finished like another 2.5 hours haha.      We has some pretty good visits during the week, including the Perez family. Then on Saturday we got to help pr...

Elder Giuffra

Heeyyyyyy everyone! This week was pretty busy. On Wednesday we had a half mission zone conference with the 1st councilor in the area presidency and then on Thursday with the other half and then Friday we had a leadership council. Lots of learning for sure! It was so powerful being with him. He talked about our mission call letter and all of the blessings there! There's a lot in our mission call and I would invite all of the missionaries reading this to go read it line by line.   The work in our area has been pretty tough, especially because my companion has been here so long and is about to leave. But little by little the work moves forward. Here is a wonderful quote that I found this week: "When the light of the Spirit, because of transgression and hardness of heart, departs from the soul of the transgressor, he is left to himself to grope through the darkness of temptation and evil. Therefore, he does not reason righteously nor act according to principles of honesty, truth...

Reverence

Hey Everyone, This week was honestly so fast! We had to organize and help with interviews this week which was pretty fun because we got to see many of the missionaries.  In the area we had a little progress, but not as much as I would have liked to see. On Sunday we got to visit a recent convert, or papa Lencho. He is the sweetest old man and always helps us with references! So last week we helped his son and son's family move into his house. So now they live together! We are now teaching Papa Lencho's son, Luis and his wife, Elena. They should come to church  next sunday .  This week we have 2 conferences with the councilor in the area Presidency which will be fantastic.  Here is something I liked from this week:  Reverence: deep respect for sacred things; wonder.  Wonder:  a feeling of surprise  mingled  with admiration, caused by something beautiful We should have reverence when we talk about the gospel and participate ...
