I Basically Live On a Bus Now

Image
Hello everyone!  This week was a pretty good week, I traveled a ton and was on a bus or some form of transport probably more than I was in my house not sleeping.  So Thursday we did something called an area attack. Everyone in the district goes to one area and then contacts for 2 hours. We went to San Martín so we had to take two different buses. We then started exchanges and I was with Elder Jones, my first Latino exchange! We came back to Comalapa so another two buses. It was interesting given my Spanish isn't great, but I loved it. It was fun. Friday we ended exchanges and then went to help with the other district’s area attack in our zone because we didn't have time to go back to Comalapa. So we took a bus out, then back to Chimal then to an area called Itzapa for a baptismal interview. Then we got the last bus from Chimal to Comalapa. A lot of bus rides haha.  Sunday we used basically every mode of transportation. A tuk tuk, van, walking, back of a pick up, a ...

Sunshine and Unreal Food

Hi everyone!! This week was a pretty awesome week. On Thursday we had Inter cambios (exchanges) and because my companion is district leader, we split with the zone leaders. I got to stay here and lead the area with Elder Doolittle!!! It was such a good day and a good boost! We taught Danny and I shared a story about prayer and honeslty it was the first time in a lesson I felt the Spirit (I haven't had very many lessons though). He has a few hurdles before baptism that we learned though so August is our goal for baptism! First unreal thing I ate this week was Pedro's pizza Thursday night. Very yummy. Saturday night for dinner was the second thing unreal. We went to this Mexican restaurant and I had tacos. Literally the most flavorful thing I've ever eaten. So good we went back Monday night haha. It's the best thing I've eaten like almost ever.  For district council Peesident Probst and the APs showed up. It was pretty cool to see them. Nothing special happened ...

The Power of Gratitude

What a week!!!! I didn't specify this last week but my p days are on Wednesdays if you want to email me! This week had so much potential but then everything fell through and it was really tough. We had 1st appointments with about 7 of our new contacts but they either weren't home or rescheduled. When we went back the same thing happened :/ We taught Danny on Thursday but we had 2 more appointments with him later and they both fell through:/ But! We got 3 references (all brothers) from other missionaries. They are friends with the patriarch and live in Comalapa so once we get their contacts we will meet with them. They have already been to church 5 times in Chimal which is crazy and so good! That should be awesome once we get those. We had zone conference Friday which was so good. The first zone conference with our mission president! We had a spiritual little meeting. President Probst talked about having a sincere heart in all that we do, it was awesome! He then started ...

I’m in Guatemala

This last week has been awesome! We woke up at 3 and flew out   at 8 am on Thursday . There was like 21 of us and a few of them were latinos from América so they translated and helped all of us. It was really easy. We went to a hotel on an old couch bus. Guatemala city is wayyyyy nicer than I thought. So many nice cars and the roads were nice. Lots of nice building too. It was wild. We got to the hotel at 11 and just hung out all day. We were all super tired. They fed us lunch and dinner. It was very good food. The hotel was really nice in general. We left left Friday after breakfast and went and did some paperwork for our visas and then went to our missions! Saying goodbye to everyone was a little sad but the ones I was closest with came to my mission so it wasn't too bad . 9 of us came to Antigua, 5 were from my district.  We met the mission president (his wife was sick:/) and the trainers. I love my mission president! He is very loving and I’m excited to learn with him. We ...
