Miracles in the Lord’s Time

Hi everyone!!!!! I really hope you are all doing good despite the challenges you may be having.  This week was incredible!! So first off, it actually wasn't incredible and was actually one of the hardest few days of my mission... like Thursday, Friday, and Saturday were hard. It was the end of the transfer and a few other things going on. Saturday nobody listened to us and would straight up say no before we finished introducing ourselves. But Sunday and Monday were alright. Not too bad.  Monday night  we found out about transfers, who was staying and who was leaving! So Elder Reid and I are both staying here!! We are soooo excited. We really wanted to stay together. That made us so happy. But then Tuesday was again REALLY HARD. Everything was good for me but my comp was having a tough time and so it ended up being a little tough for both of us. However... on Friday we received a reference from some sisters in our mission. It's a family of 4 - Pedro, Yolanda, Madeline, and...

The Work Must Go On

Hi everyone!!!! I hope you all had an awesome week! This week was a little different because Elder Reid and I both had immigration on different days. Butttt it was good nonetheless. I had to go  Thursday at 3am  and Elder Reid on Tuesday.  So this week we made good progress with our friends that we are teaching! Saturday we met with Marcos and had an excellent lesson with him. We are really hoping that this weekend we can get him to church and hopefully have a baptism date to work towards! And on Saturday we also got to meet with a girl named Jamine. She's super interested and read the pamphlet. Like she studied it... haha she had answers to all the questions we asked about! The only thing is we have only had 2 lessons and both at her doorstep. But we also want her to come to church on Sunday! It's kinda hard with both of them because we can only meet with them on the weekends. So progress is a little slow. But its progress :) Really funny story this week. So Elder Reid o...

Zone Conference!

Heyyyy everyone!!!  This week was a pretty solid week. We worked really hard on finding new people to teach and meeting members!! We finally got to meet with the Bishop and he is so awesome. He also wants to split the ward this year! They need 50 more attendances to do it so we want to help him with that. We have one person we found and are teaching named Marcos. We taught him lesson 1 and he really liked it! We felt the spirit really strong and we have another visit on Saturday.  On Thursday we ran out of water... and we didn't know how to fix it because no one told us anything about the house. The next 2 days we heated water up in a pot and used that to wash clothes. Not very fun when our house is so cold!!! But then after talking to a few people and some members, we got it figured out. Turns out we just have to turn on a switch for like 10 minutes haha. But now we have water and it's great.  We visited this family on Monday and taught them about the restoration and the...

My House Is Colder Than Canada

Hi everyone!  Some of you may have noticed that I haven't written in awhile. I went home at the beginning of November and spent some time with my family. I even got to spend Christmas with them!! Back in Guatemala! I’m back in Guatemala and arrived on Dec. 27th.  I opened an area in the middle of the transfer and am follow-up training (means my companion is in his 2nd transfer.) His name is Elder Reid and he is from Idaho falls. He’s super cool and we get along great.  We are in the mountains and share a ward with another companionship. The ward is like 200 people every Sunday and it's awesome. They also have been feeding us lots!!! I love the mountains and walking in the mountains, it's so pretty. There are so many hills and we get a good workout haha.  We have been knocking lots of doors to find new people to teach and meeting lots of members. It's been busy but lots of knocking doors. We have so much fun but also work super hard and it's awesome. I love it! I hav...
